Meet the Metro DC PFLAG Board of Directors

  • Ana Abreu - Board Member

Ana is the newest member of our Board, having joined in October 2020 after several years of participating in Metro DC PFLAG events. Ana has been an ally to the LGBTQ+ community since she was a little girl thanks to her Mother and Grandmother, who relentlessly taught her to accept and embrace everyone as a way of life. This became more personal while growing up in her home country of Brazil and watching a close family member come out in a conservative environment. She strongly believes everyone has the right to be who they are, and that diversity is key to helping a society grow.

Ana moved to the U.S. in 2010 and has spent over a decade supporting global health supply chain projects focused on buying and delivering life-saving medicines around the world.

In her free time, Ana enjoys exploring the outdoors and has become an amateur photographer as a by-product. She also enjoys traveling and meeting new people, including through Metro DC PFLAG!
